Pictures: One Of Life’s Best Gifts

The older I get, the more I am thankful for the great gift of photography and the ability we have to take pictures of life's most special and ordinary events. Perhaps I am aware of the value of pictures because my father was a photographer and so I was raised around cameras and pictures all the time. I'm not sure, I just know that I am convinced that everyone would do well to make pictures a more prominent thing in their life.

I talk to many people who have trouble remembering the details of their childhood or of some of the most significant events of their lives. This saddens me greatly because I do not think that it has to be this way. I think that regardless of whether or not you have a lot of pictures from your past, anyone can start now to take pictures and make memories of their life from this point forward.

Taking memorable pictures doesn't mean that you have to be a professional photographer or that you need to have years of experience. All you need to have is an eye for capturing the memories that happen everyday in your life. A great

Selecting A Down Comforter For Your Bedroom

Its soft, fluffy and terrific to cuddle with. No, its not a cat. A down comforter breathes better than synthetic comforters and is much more efficient when it comes to keeping you comfortable at night. This puffy cloud of insulation is designed specifically to fit beds of all sizes, just as any other comforter is designed to do. They are manufactured in twin, queen, full size and king sizes. A down comforter is made to keep your body warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Because it breathes easier than other comforters, a down comforter allows the release of moisture rather than having it trapped inside the material.

In addition to being luxurious, a down comforter is ideal for anyone who suffers from allergies. It is important to remember, however, that consideration must be given to a products feather content, cleanliness and fill power. Because the down is typically cleaned, processed and inspected prior to being placed in the comforter, users do not often notice any increase in allergies. This is especially true if they purchase a down comforter that is designed to be hypo-allergenic.

The Benefits, Joys and Danger of the Sunlight

THE BENEFITS OF THE SUN-RAYS

If the exposure to sun.light is moderate, the benefits outnumber the dangers. First of all sunshine has a good effect upon the mental health and well-being, both due to the visible light and to the warming effect.
The UVA rays in the sunlight stimulates the skin to produce vitamin D. This vitamin is necessary for the normal composition, growth and regeneration of bone tissue. By to low levels of vitamin D in the body, the bones tend to loose calcium and get thinner and weaker. Newer findings suggest that many people do not get enough of this vitamin through the diet or do not absorb enough from the intestines, and need this stimulation to get good enough levels of vitamin D.

Travellers Tales From The English Coast

A placid air had swept through town and once again the bay was a picture of calm. Children played upon the shore as the gentle waves lapped about the beach. Gulls swooped overhead, their merry chatter a sure sign that spring was in the air and warmer times here for all.

Across the bay a narrow strip of sand had defied the tide and stood as dry land. Hundreds of seabirds took refuge, safe from predators. A whole community chatted amongst themselves, discussing the options for lunch. The clouds that had earlier looked so threatening had now subsided; the bay was soaked in sunshine.

Burnham-On-Sea is a quiet little coastal town in south-west England inside the county of Somerset. Within easy reach of the M5 motorway, Burnham-On-Sea is a very popular resort with owners of caravans and motor homes.

A quick glance along the shore revealed Burnham-On-Seas most recognisable landmark, the beach lighthouse. Its unusual in that its actually built on the sand itself. Originally found to be too low down to emit its light effectively, they decided to raise the lighthouse on stilts. Its still in use today, helping keep ships safe in the Bristol Channel.

Peer Pressure And Alcohol: A Difficult Combination For Many Teens

For most young people, the teenage years are a fun and exciting time, filled with first-time experiences: a new school, a part-time job, getting a driver's license, maybe a first romance. In general, it is a period marked by greater responsibility and freedom.

However, teens can also experience feelings of doubt and may lack self-esteem. For these reasons, they are particularly susceptible to peer pressure: an overwhelming desire to fit in and do "what everyone else is doing," even if it means participating in such high-risk activities as drinking, smoking and sex.

It's all part of a teenager's efforts to try to separate from his or her parents and establish a personal identity.

To help teens and their families cope with peer pressure, The Health Alliance on Alcohol (HAA), a national education initiative established to address the issues of underage consumption of alcohol that includes members Heineken USA, New York Presbyterian Healthcare System and White Plains Hospital Center, has developed a booklet entitled "Facts & Conversations: Peer Pressure."

Written by adolescent health experts at Columbia University Medical Center and The Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of NewYork-Presbyterian, "Facts & Conversations: Peer Pressure" answers some common questions:

1. What exactly is
